Graduating in 1985 from Lincoln Institute of Applied Science, Melbourne, Australia with a Bachelor in Physiotherapy Cath has over 35 years clinical experience in rehabilitation and private settings. In 1991 Cath emigrated to Vancouver, initially taking a position at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre rotating through inpatient and outpatient stroke, brain injury and spine injury units. In 1996 she opened one of the first private physiotherapy practices in Vancouver specializing in the assessment and treatment of individuals with neurological injuries. In 2005 Libby Swain joined forces with Cath and over the following years the practice evolved into Neuro-Ability.

At Neuro-Ability Cath maintains a clinical caseload, and provides one-on-one clinical mentorship on a consult basis to physiotherapists. She brings considerable knowledge and skill to this role having worked in all aspects of the care continuum (acute, rehabilitation and community) in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Cath is passionate to advance clinical practice in neurological rehabilitation. In 2002 she qualified as an IBITA Bobath Instructor, co-founded the Canadian Bobath Instructors Association and commenced teaching clinical Bobath courses to physiotherapists and occupational therapists across Canada. In Denmark 2010 she qualified as an Advanced Instructor, one of only three in Canada, and commenced instruction on an international stage, including Australia, UK, Europe and South America. She has taken an active role in the International organisation IBITA serving on 2 committees; the Qualification Committee responsible for the process of Qualifying Instructors and the Instructor Training Committee, where she is Chair, responsible for the Instruction of Instructor Candidates. She is also a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

When not at work Cath loves to combine travel, cycling and exploring new cuisines and has been fortunate to cycle several of the great European waterways including the Moselle, Danube, Elbe and Rhone rivers with her husband and 2 grown children.
